NEWSLETTER FOR ALL DRIVERS
FUEL
We are experiencing very high fuel prices. To try and save money company wide we have developed a positive incentive to try and get all of our drivers as a team to get better fuel mileage. It is extremely important that we all participate and do the best we can to make our fuel go further. Thank-you for all your enthusiasm as we approach this challenge as a team, we appreciate all your efforts.
TIPS FOR IMPROVING FUEL MILEAGE
1. SLOW DOWN! The optimal speed to get optimal fuel mileage is around 62-63 MPH.
2. TRAFFIC- Always travel at a speed 2-3 MPH behind the flow of traffic. This way traffic is always pulling ahead it will eliminate the need to slow down, speed up or change lanes. If you are traveling a highway with three lanes choose the middle that way traffic can pass you on both sides and most times you won't have to change lanes.
3. CRUISE CONTROL- Always use you cruise control anytime you can. This way the engine can run the way it was designed to save fuel. Remember set it 2-3 MPH slower than traffic.
4. DOOR IN A DOOR- Always be sure to use your door in a door correctly and every time! This is only applicable for walking floor drivers.
5. DEADHEAD- We provide dedicated equipment to our drivers that makes you the sole person responsible. Be smart about the miles you are running keeping in your mind the expense of fuel and ask yourself the question "What if this was my fuel and my expense" . We all make up this company and we all have an impact on how successful the company is.
Thank-you
